History of Shilin Knives

Shilin knives are renowned for their legacy dating back to 19th century China, where they were handmade by the Chiu family. These unique knives were taught to a select few, some of whom emigrated to Taiwan where they continued producing them. Over time, production dwindled, and currently only two families in Taipei continue this tradition. Unfortunately, the doors of the Chiu house are currently closed, and it is unknown if they will reopen.

Design and Functionality

The Chillin FX-530 G10 combines traditional aesthetics with modern materials and technology. The N690Co stainless steel blade ensures excellent corrosion resistance and exceptional durability, while the stone washed finish gives it a rugged, wear-resistant appearance. The black G10 handle provides a secure and comfortable grip, being also impact and moisture resistant. The black idroglider stainless steel clip and screws ensure a firm and durable fit.

Additional Details

The yellow lime anodized aluminum spacer adds a vibrant touch of color and contributes to the knife's stability and balance. The liner/frame lock mechanism, made from black idroglider AISI 420 stainless steel, ensures optimal safety during use.

With a blade length of 80 mm (3.15") and an overall length of 193 mm (7.60"), this knife is compact and easy to handle.
