MinoSharp Water Sharpener 440

The Minosharp water sharpener is an easy and effective method of sharpening Global and other Japanese knives which usually have a sharpened angle of 15 degrees. Two wheels sit in a trough which the user fills with water – this lubricates the sharpening process. The first white wheel is the coarse sharpener and the pink is the fine. One pulls the knife first through the white and then the pink an equal number of times until it is judged to be sharp. The wheels are offset at an oblique angle to ensure that the correct sharpening angle is maintained automatically. Comes in two sizes for large and small knives.

Direcction on use:

1º Pour water into the shapener. When water is in the wheel compartment the revolving ceramic whetstone is constantly being rinsed. The shapener sholud always be rinsed with water after use by removing the cover.

2º To keep the shapener steady, firmly grip the handle with one hand.

3º Hold the knife with your forefinger on the back of the knife,and place the knife blade perpendiculary into groove nº1 with the white (coarse) wheel and move the blade back and forth with slight pressure 7/8 times or as necessary.

4º Next, place the knife blade perpendiculary into groove nº2 with the pink (medium) wheel and move the blade back and forth with slight pressure 7/8 times.
